Shop Vouchers
A Shop voucher is a code Buyers type at checkout to get money off what they buy from your Shop. You make it, you choose its terms, and you pay for the discount out of the sale. Make and manage yours on the Vouchers page, under My Business.
Two kinds
- Amount off, such as ₱50. It needs a minimum spend of at least twice its amount, so ₱50 off needs ₱100.
- Percentage off, from 1% to 50%, always with an Up to amount in pesos, such as 10% up to ₱100.
So a voucher is never more than half off. ED Commerce's ₱5.00 on every item pays the payment processor, and an item sold for next to nothing wouldn't cover it.
Either kind can also have:
- a minimum spend, counted on your items at full price, never the shipping fee;
- a day it starts and a day it ends, as whole days in Philippine time;
- a number of Total uses;
- One use per Buyer, so each Buyer can use it on one paid order.
The code
4 to 20 letters and numbers, chosen by you. Capital and small letters count the same, so a Buyer who types save50 gets SAVE50. Another Shop can have the same code: yours only ever works on your items.
Getting it to Buyers
Turn on Show on my Shop and, while it's live, your Shop page lists it with a Copy code button. Leave it off and only people you give the code to can use it: put it in your posts, or send it to a Buyer in Messages.
At checkout
Each Shop in the cart gets its own code box, and a Buyer can use one voucher per Shop in an order.
- It comes off everything your Shop sells in that order, files and parcels, and never off the shipping fee.
- Your free-shipping amount is measured after the voucher, so a Buyer just over it before the discount may pay shipping after it.
- If it doesn't apply (it hasn't started, it's ended, it's used up, or the cart is under the minimum spend), the box says why, and the Buyer can still pay at full price.
What it costs you
The discount comes out of your sale. ED Commerce's 6.5% is worked out on the price after the voucher, and the ₱5.00 per item stays the same.
For example, a ₱200.00 file with ₱50.00 off: you're paid on ₱150.00, the fees are ₱14.75, and you keep ₱135.25.
When an order has several of your items, the discount is spread across them by price. Your earnings statement shows each item's share, such as "₱200.00 less ₱50.00, voucher SAVE50".
Uses and refunds
A use counts once the order is paid. If every one of your items in that order is cancelled, the Buyer gets the use back. A refund is always what the Buyer actually paid, after the voucher.
Changing or ending a voucher
Until anyone has used it, you can change anything. Once it has been used, you can only change its end day, its total uses, and whether it's shown on your Shop. To offer a different deal, make a new voucher.
End stops it straight away, and can't be undone. Orders already placed with it keep their discount. If your Shop can no longer sell, its vouchers stop with it.
